Basing a courier business at Junction 9 of the M5 was a smart move for Stefan Roberts when he set up RED (Roberts Express Delivery) nine years ago.
Tewkesbury offers easy access to the motorway network, access throughout the UK and into Europe. The business location has been a key benefit for the light haulage firm as it has grown and evolved.

Initially starting life as a courier company, RED now offers storage solutions and removal services and recently moved to new premises on the Newtown Trading Estate as part of their 2016 expansion plans. The new building includes warehousing, which is large and secure enough for a wide range of storage solutions. The company also appointed a new director, Ollie Alonsso, who will help to drive the company’s growth.
“We plan to take the principles behind our parcel delivery service into our expansion plans,” explains Stefan. “You have to be competitive on price but we also like to focus on attention to detail and the personal touch that we can offer customers. We love building relationships and making new ones and are proud to say that once people find us they don’t leave us.”
Being close to the business community helped Stefan and the team identify a new business opportunity. He says: “Having been based in Tewkesbury for a while, we noticed there was a severe lack of storage for businesses in the area and so we’re really pleased to be able to provide that service now. We now have a number of options available for business customers, including purpose-built racking for palletised storage and document archiving. We've also got large, wooden crates for personal use too."
The growth in the town’s population in the last few years has also increased demand for RED’s removals service and the dedicated team makes it their mission to go out of their way to ensure that each move is as stress free as possible.
